How can an evaluator support and engage community coalitions to collect data to track their outcomes? What types of reports can make coalitions excited for evaluation and want to share their work with their members and beyond?
These questions loomed over Kelly Washburn when she began working with four coalitions. Buy-in on the importance of evaluation had already been established, but the best formats in which to report outcomes weren’t fully realized yet. With relationship building and discussions, the discovery was that wordy documents weren’t the answer; it was infographics.
The discussion will focus on: 1. The challenges faced with previous reports, 2. How they used Piktochart to create infographics showcasing yearly data without losing meaning behind the data, 3. Ways the coalitions shared the visuals, and 4. Lessons learned when moving from less words to more visuals.
If time allows, breakout groups will occur to discuss other ways in which visuals have been used within others work.
